It was very special for me making the DVD “Guitar Through the Ages”. This project allowed me the opportunity to show pieces of music from the arrival of Europeans in the Americas to present day on the instruments of each era.
The project, funded by the DF’s Culture Aid Fund (FAC-DF, in Portuguese), and held by Alvaro Henrique, aims to make a DVD telling the story of the guitar from the Babylon to modern day, presenting music from the first guitar-related printed music ever (El Maestro, by Luys Milan, printed in 1536) to premiered pieces, playied on replicas of the 16th, 18th, 19th Centuries and on a modern guitar made with moder techniques.
Repertoire:
Vihuela
Luys Milan (Mylan): Pavana, Tento
Barroque Theorboed Guitar
Domenico Scarlatti: Sonatas K11 and K380
19th Century Guitar (Romantic Guitar)
Mauro Giuliani: Selection of My Favourite Flowers, op. 46 (Myrtle, Pansy, Lis, Jasmin, Rosemary, Carnation, Narcissus, Violet, Rose, Laurel)
Modern Guitar
Francisco Tárrega: Recuerdos de la Alhambra
Fabiano Borges: Estudo Nazarethiano nº 1
Ney Rosauro: Prelude nº 1
