I started a project to raise the spotlight on a very important yet neglected Brazilian composer, Cesar Guerra-Peixe. He is a unique case of a composer who is considered a key figure in two RIVAL musical movement in Brazil, the Musica Viva, focused on avant-gard music, and the Movimento Armorial, focused on creating art forms from popular backgrounds instead of European ones.

I’m uploading each month a video of a guitar work by him including subtitles and I also publish a lesson giving tips how to master each work. The first one had only Portuguese subtitles on the video (Peixinhos da Guiné – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1l0wMsZ9n3g), but English closed captions were included (just activate them on YouTube)

but the recent one, Caderno de Mariza, features also English subtitles (https://youtu.be/Dmbc9qWABDA).

They are accompained by a lesson giving tips how to learn them.

Caderno de Mariza (level a bit below Brouwer’s Estudios Sencillos): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkVUre4aJZ8
