On October 18 at 5:30 PM, I will join guitarist and composer Sara D’Ippolito-Reichert for a concert at Arts on Lafond in St. Paul, Minnesota.
The program brings together works by four contemporary composers: Frederico Marques Teixeira, Elodie Bouny, Maria Arriola, and Sara D’Ippolito-Reichert. Through their music, the concert explores different perspectives, musical languages, and approaches to the classical guitar.
This concert is part of a grant project made possible through the support of the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (MRAC). The project has a simple goal: to expand the guitar repertoire by bringing greater attention to diverse voices and perspectives and to music that explores possibilities beyond the established canon.
I am especially pleased to share this program with Sara D’Ippolito-Reichert, whose music is also featured in the concert. The combination of solo and collaborative works offers an opportunity to hear several distinct approaches to the instrument within a single program.
The concert will take place at Arts on Lafond, 1697 Lafond St, St. Paul, MN, on Sunday, October 18, at 5:30 PM.
Admission is free. Donations will be accepted to support the Guitar Series at Lafond and help make future concerts possible.
